What are your hours?
Stop by and see us at Baratta’s Restaurant for lunch or dinner.
Lunch Hours: Tuesday-Friday 11am-2pm
Dinner Hours: Tuesday-Thursday & Sunday 4pm-8pm, Friday-Saturday 4pm-9pm
Café Baratta’s is currently closed due to museum renovations. It’s available to rent through the historical museum and special events only at this time.

Do you have a private room for parties?
We take reservations for up to 40 guests at our South Union location. We do not have a private room at Café Baratta’s, though.
What types of payments do you accept?
We’re happy to accept cash, Visa, MasterCard, or Amex. We do not accept checks.

Do you have a bar?
Yes, there’s a full bar available at our South Union location.
Does Baratta’s (on South Union) deliver meals?
We offer delivery to a limited area from the restaurant menu during regular hours of operation.
Do you have a kids’ menu?
Baratta’s is a place for family, so of course we have a kids’ menu at both our main restaurant.
Questions About Our Partner Venues
How many people can your partner venues hold?
Depending on your needs, we have venues that can provide space for 10-750 guests. Find out more about these spaces on our Catering page.
Do you offer a bar?
We only offer full bar services at the State Historical Building and the Blank Park Zoo.

Where does Baratta’s offer catering?
We’re partnered with a number of excellent event venues in and around the Greater Des Moines Metro area (the State Historical Building, Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden, Des Moines Heritage Center, and Blank Park Zoo). Baratta’s also provides catering to any venue, home, or office building that allows outside caterers. If you’re outside of the Des Moines area, don’t worry! Contact us today—we’d be happy to help.
What types of events does Baratta’s cater?
We’re happy to cater all kinds of events, from wedding receptions and corporate events, to showers and engagement parties. Holiday parties are a big favorite, rehearsal dinners, and more. If your event calls for catering, Baratta’s is ready! Take a look at our Catering page for more info.
We can deliver food to your home or office or come fully staffed along with china, linens, and everything else needed to host a beautiful event.
What event sizes can you cater?
